- WhatsApp is looking for a way to silently leave a group.
- Only the group admin and you will be notified when you leave the group.
If you’re a WhatsApp user, you’re bound to find yourself added to groups you really don’t want to be a part of. Sometimes these groups are created by family members or friends, and you reluctantly stick around simply because it would be less awkward than leaving the group and telling everyone you didn’t want to be there in the first place. Well, WhatsApp might be moving things forward.
Based on WaBetaInfo, the messaging platform is working on a new feature that will allow WhatsApp users to silently leave groups. The screenshot of the upcoming feature shows that when you leave the group, other members will not be notified of your leaving. Only you and the WhatsApp group admin will be notified that you have left the group.

Currently, WhatsApp notifies everyone in the group when a member leaves. With this new feature, you’re more likely to offend just one person — the group admin — rather than everyone in the group.
WaBetaInfo reports that the feature is currently in development and will soon be landing in beta versions of the app for Android and iOS.
