I considered creating a subtle gold sharp wall treatment for my budget bathroom remodel here in Florida, but I opted against it at the last second and replaced it with simply a framed art print. In the meantime I thought I’d share a few designs I’ve inspired as well as some other wallpapers out there that I believe can be recreated with a paintbrush, metallic paint pen, or Sharpies.
Buying wallpaper is expensive and for those who don’t feel comfortable doing it themselves, there is a fee to hire an installer. For an intricate multi-colored wallpaper this was well worth the time, I love the bold, tropical look of the wallpaper in this bathroom remodel from last summer, however it took me almost two days to glue it all together and line it up squarely against the wall.
If you’re looking for something more subtle or tone-on-tone, or if your preferred wallpaper isn’t the scale you envisioned, you can stencil it or you can make your own. What’s the worst that could happen? You didn’t like it so you painted it! Below are just a few examples of line art, geometrics, and abstract prints that can be recreated with some patience and a paintbrush or sharp object.
