Hello and Happy New Year! My vacation is relaxing, I join some friends for a glass of Prosecco then slip into my pajamas at ten on the couch. I thought a vacation could be great in a warm weather climate but it’s raining so hard here all I wanted was to stay indoors.
Easing back into regular content, you can expect the same from me this year. More open spaces, DIY projects, resource gathering, travel stories, and other reflections on life thrown into the mix. I’m going back to Florida at the end of the week to get the house ready for tenants. We rent the house from mid-January to May so I have to finish a few projects before that happens. While our family was home for Thanksgiving, I remodeled the electric fireplace and added wicker chairs and a coffee table to the living room. The sofa will arrive next week.
For the walls I want wall sconces but I don’t want to pay an electrician to go out and install a box for the current wiring fixture. Instead, I opted for battery-operated wall sconces to give the room a little added light for evening reading or sitting by the fire.
I was surprised how much I liked the fabric I ordered, it was a linen half cylinder with a remote control and several light settings, warm, cool, etc. They also have a timer setting so they will turn off every time I program them to. Its minimalist style combines with off-white walls which, when turned off, are inconspicuous making it perfect for this room.
You can find lots of wall sconces plugs but I didn’t want to look at the wires so the only option other than adding wires was to buy battery operated sconces and luckily there are more choices now.
modern wood refill / wood & black (sets of two)
black arch (set of two) too in bronze / brass lamp remotely
rechargeable magnetic light
The lights below consist of two sets, operated by one remote control. So if you want to add extra light to your bedroom, hall, living room, nursery, dining room, office, garage, anywhere, consider these battery operated wall sconces for your home.
black and gold swan neck / wood + green (some colours)
white goose neck / brass torch / black swan neck
modern wood & white / black & brass / brass cylinder
If you don’t like the style, consider hanging a cord-designed chandelier where there is no power source, and using a remote-controlled, battery-operated light bulb. Be sure to double check the inside of the candle holder to make sure the battery operated light bulb will fit inside!
