In The Witness, players will find themselves waking up on a deserted island, and that’s about it. The island itself is full of puzzles (over 500), and there are many types of puzzles to solve. Some are quite simple to solve, but things get complicated as you progress. Solving puzzles is an important part of the game, as they will help you discover your identity (unknown at first) and how you got to the island in the first place.
The controls in The Witness are simple and intuitive, with the game teaching you the ropes from the start. To move, just tap on the place you want to go, and you’ll walk there. Sliding the screen horizontally lets you move the camera so you can check what’s around you. Tapping on the puzzle screen takes you into the puzzle. If you double-tap where you want to go, it makes your character run instead of walk. A two-finger tap stops you in your tracks.
